What is Award Management Services?

Award Management Services conducts the day-to-day post-award research administration activities for the University of Kansas. By working directly with PIs, Co-PIs, program staff, and sponsoring agencies, AMS provides seamless, consistent service while reducing administrative burden to allow research to be your top priority.

With expertise in areas of post-award best practices and KU grant systems, policies, and processes, AMS delivers accurate and timely information to make decisions and ensure efficient transaction processing. Additionally, AMS reviews each research purchase and project action for allowability and allocability to verify that all awards remain in compliance with federal, state, and local agencies.

AMS was created in 2021 and is currently comprised of approximately 50 specially trained and dedicated Grant Supervisors, Officers, and Coordinators across 5 interdisciplinary teams. AMS and the Office of Research are committed to continued growth and open dialogue.
