Amy Carlson

Amy Carlson serves as Chief of Staff for the Chief Financial Officer organization at the University of Kansas. With more than 15 years of experience at KU, she brings extensive knowledge of financial operations, strategic planning, organizational transformation, and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining the CFO leadership team, Amy served as Director of Strategic Initiatives for Finance Administration, where she led efforts to improve operational effectiveness and advance key organizational priorities. Committed to collaborative leadership, she works closely with campus partners to align financial and operational strategies that support the university's mission and strengthen its long-term financial health. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Emporia State University and is a graduate of the Kansas Certified Public Manager Program.
