John Curran, CIA CGAP

As Vice Chancellor and Chief Risk Officer, John leads KU's Office of Audit, Risk & Compliance (OARC). OARC provides leadership and university-wide services that strengthen accountability, mitigate significant risks, investigate and resolve allegations, and reduce the consequences of non-compliance with federal and state laws. It incorporates the university's internal audit, institutional compliance, policy, and risk management functions as well as the Office of Global Operations and Security.

John has a bachelor's degree in political science from Pittsburg State University and was a Presidential Fellow while earning a master's degree in public service and administration from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. His area of study was public management in state and local government. Prior to his current position, he served as KU's chief audit executive and held audit positions with the City of Olathe, Sprint (T-Mobile), and the Kansas Legislative Division of Post Audit.
